Birthday Drive

This last weekend was my birthday (and my brother's), and to celebrate we planned a trip to the ocean and Corvallis to see my brother, Kesh.  The weather couldn't have been better, er, wait that's could have been better..... ;)

Late Night Soccer

Nearly every Monday night this year, Nathan and his brother Jasper have traveled to Bend to play indoor soccer.  On many of these outings, I have attended; as Fan Numero Uno. My own brothers have now joined the trend, and it does my heart well to see all my guys have such a good time. Well most of the time... ;)

Testing out Drivers

On Tuesday of last week, I took my driver's test, and I passed!!  It has taken me somewhere around 6 years to get my license, from my first day of Driver's Education class to last Tuesday.  I was surprised I passed, as I am surprised to do well in anything, though I don't know that I can say I "did well." But I passed, I just need to keep telling myself that.  I finally get to legally drive alone, which is much nicer than driving with others. I should have got my license years ago....

Oh and P.S.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I hope you're wearing green today. =)

The Daily Grind

A random Marley Mae picture for you, she always makes me smile. :)
It feels like my entire life right now revolves around work.  Preparing for the work week, washing my work clothes, going to work, working, getting my work schedule, and sleeping.  It seems like that's all I do! But maybe this is an old feeling for others? I definitely am new to this whole job-world-thing.  The nice thing is I am finally on a seemingly set schedule.  Madras Safeway Starbucks has got their permanent manager and she is a lot of fun!  Besides being an eternal optimist, she also tries to give everyone 2 days off a week as well as a semi-consistent schedule, (which doesn't always happen at a place like Safeway).  So I get Sundays and Mondays off for now, which rocks!

Get Behind the Wheel

A Subaru to pull.
The kind of mud that takes your shoes.
Just the other afternoon, as we sat watching the World Golf Accenture Matchplay Championships, Nathan got a call from his father. SOMEONE, who will remain nameless, but it was not Rick, had gotten the truck, THE TRUCK, stuck wheel-deep in a fantastic mud hole.  We had to go save them. :)  This would not have been accomplished if Nathan were not such a talented driver.

Valentine's Rush

As a child, you grow up with a certain view and idea about holidays.  For example: holidays are when every one stops working and there is no school.  Holidays are a time to relax and sleep all day and enjoy food and family.  Holidays are days when you get presents for no reason at all, or chocolate.  Everybody is happy on holidays.

Snow Dayzzz

Winter has put me in a funk.  When I first started this blog, I had a list of ideas for blog posts, things I'd been thinking about for ages and wanted to share with family and friends.  Now, my list seems to have exhausted its self, just as I am now exhausted.  Not necessarily with blog posts, but with life in general.  And not even for any reason! Purely because it is winter and it's cold outside (5 degrees?? What is that??)!  When the days are long and dark, all I want to do is curl up by the fire and nap; maybe have some nice chai tea before I drift off...

#beachvibes

I LOVE THE OCEAN! Love, love, love it!

This weekend I was so blessed as to go on a coast adventure with my lovely husband, my good friend Jennifer, and the incomparable Jasper.  We traversed the state to Cannon Beach, where live my eldest brother, his wife, and their lovely children.  It was sunny, which is amazing for the Oregon Coast, and even slightly warm!

Advisory: This is a very picture heavy post.  Continue at your own risk!

Starbucks

I am really enjoying my job here at the Madras Safeway Starbucks! They put me on the morning shift, (without asking, by the way), which means that pretty much every morning I get up at 4am, FOUR IN THE MORNING, to get to work by 4:30am and get the store kiosk ready for opening.  As a consequence of this and the fact that I still do not have a driver's license, either Nathan or Rick also must get up that early.  It has created quite a bit of strife in our relationships. :) So in the near-ish future I will need to take the driving test.... Ugh!

The Difficulties of Life

So, awhile back, I published a blog about how things were going.  This post seemed to upset people for some reason and I didn't really understand why.  "All I'm doing," I thought to myself, "is sharing what I'm going through, mentally and well as environmentally." [ I try not to share what I'm going about physically ;) ] Why would people be concerned? I believe I've hit upon the answer, at least in part.
