Fall Happenings with Friends

Sorry, this was posted a bit late. Nathan is back! Which of course must excuse my lack of posts. :)

Photos taken by Naveen - the amazing screen tapper!

With Nathan gone I have spent every Saturday, and some days during the week, with my friends in Bend.  Partly it has been because Nathan is gone, but also one of my friends changed her job so she has more free time.  We have had 2 game nights and one adventure outing.  I really enjoy game nights.  Jen arranges them at her apartment because of the 3 of us (Jen, Lizzie, and Me), she's the only one with a place in Bend at the moment.  She and Lizzie invite gabs of people and we eat cookies and play games.
Me, Mary, Alex, and Naveen.
The first night we had pumpkin pie to celebrate the beginning of fall.  There were about 15 people all together, all laughing and talking over one another.  We played about every card game we could think of.  I won nothing. =( Couldn't pull it together. But ah, well; such is life. You lose some, you lose some more.  After most everyone had left, a smaller group of us stayed and chatted.  The old group; Nick, Dan, Lizzie, Jen, and I.  I spent the night at Jen's and the next day we went to brunch with Naveen.  I really enjoy hanging out with Naveen, besides being my brother, is is also one of my best friends.  Always has been.  The cheeky blighter.
Wiener Dog Races! - Naveen, Sam, Mary, Lizzie, and Me.
After brunch we walked along the river, chatting away about nothing and enjoying full bellies and crisp fall weather.  Lizzie met us there and we all trooped off to a local coffee shop, where we were met by our good friend Sam.  It was Oktoberfest (in September?) so of course we had to see the wiener dog races!  Where anything could happen! Dogs running down the line, in circles, and back to the start boxes!!  The excitement was palpable. ;)  Good, honest entertainment. We watched from the roof of the parking garage, along with half of Bend.

The next Saturday, Naveen and I met up with Jen and Lizzie early and played games and ate food before everyone else showed up.  Then the games began again!  Apples to Apples, Scatagories (teams), spoons, and president!  We love our card games.  And apple crisp with ice cream this time, just as delicious.  Again, a few stayed late after the games to talk.  Not long after, we decided for a day to hang out, and the corn maze was decided on! Love the corn maze.  Which is actually called The Maize. Clever of them...

Anyway, a large group went.  I spent my time getting lost on purpose and then of course everyone thought I was lost in truth and were very joyous to 'rescue' me.  We played a game of tag/hide'and'seek; which by the way, is strictly forbidden! ;)
It was a good day of friendship and laughter, and not nearly long enough.  I wish we did not live in different towns.  But thinking about distance makes me think about the future. Who knows where we will all be in the future?
Samantha!

Will we all have moved from Central Oregon?  Will we be in different countries even? But that is life, in all its exciting-ness. I will always love these guys! I don't know what I would do with out their steady friendship and patience.

 Oh and P.S.

This week a certain music video went viral, and it has been the but of all jokes for us. I really think it is quite fantastic.  It is so brilliant, you almost miss the fact that they are making fun of main stream music videos.
